Kenneth Manusama
Executive Director
Kenneth Manusama received his PhD in International Law from the VU University Amsterdam and has taught at several Dutch universities, and New York University. He obtained practical experiences at a New York law firm and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is also Assistant Professor at the VU University Amsterdam and Counsel to the Netherlands Office of the Public International Law and Policy Group. His interests include peace and security, human rights, piracy at sea and the role of legal advisers in foreign policy.

Maral Khajeh
Public Relations
Maral Khajeh, co-founder of the Young Professional Research Initiative, finished her Bachelor and Master in laws at VU University Amsterdam. Within the field of international law, she specialised in law and politics of international security. After a minor Middle East at the University of Amsterdam she finished her thesis on the differences and similarities between classical Islamic doctrine on jihad and secular Christian thinking.

Alba I. León
Research
Alba I. León studied International Relations at El Colegio de México in Mexico City and holds an LL.M. from the VU University, Amsterdam, where she specialised in Law and Politics of International Security. She is currently working on topics of peacekeeping and development, with a particular focus on migrants and internally displaced persons

Bregtje Kamphuis
Finance/Fundraising
Bregtje Kamphuis graduated with honors from the Liberal Arts and Sciences bachelor program at University College Utrecht, focusing on international law and politics. She then went on to complete the MSc in Law, Anthropology and Society from the London School of Economics, where she specialized in dispute resolution and anthropology of human rights and international law. Her current interest lies in the impact of culture in international law and politics, and the use of anthropological fieldwork and research to contribute to legal discourse.

Daniëlle de Best
Operations
Daniëlle de Best holds an LL.M in Public International Law and an LL.M in Philosophy of Law, both from Leiden University. She held various internships, including at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. She has also worked as a Research Assistant at the UN Office of Legal Affairs. Her interests include peace and security and human rights law.
